End User License Agreement

Effective October 9, 2026

This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is between you and Nguyen Tam, doing business as A17Lab ("we", "us"), the publisher of QuillSpace. It covers QuillSpace for Windows and QuillSpace for Mac, their updates, and any license key or plan you buy for them (together, "the Software"). By installing or using the Software, you agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or use it.

The short version

1. The license we grant you

The Software is licensed to you, not sold. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software on computers you own or control, for any personal or commercial writing, subject to this Agreement.

You can move a license key to another computer by choosing Deactivate in the app's License settings on the old one, then activating it on the new one. QuillSpace for Windows and QuillSpace for Mac are separate products, so a license for one does not unlock the other.

2. What you may not do

Except where the law expressly allows it, you may not:

3. Your content

Everything you write in QuillSpace belongs to you. The Software saves your projects as files on your own computer (by default in the QuillSpace folder inside your Documents folder), and it does not upload your writing to us. You are responsible for keeping backups of your work. QuillSpace has no generative AI features, and we never use your writing to train AI.

4. What the Software installs and sends

Installing QuillSpace installs only the QuillSpace app. It does not install other software, add browser extensions, change your home page or search engine, or show advertising.

The Software works offline. It uses the internet for a short welcome survey, usage statistics (Windows only), license activation and checks, update checks, and purchases. Exactly what is sent, and why, is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of this Agreement.

5. Purchases, renewals and refunds

6. Updates

We may release updates that fix problems, add features or change existing ones. The Windows version updates through the Microsoft Store; the Mac version downloaded from quillspace.app checks for updates itself, and the Mac App Store version updates through the Mac App Store. This Agreement applies to every update unless an update comes with new terms.

7. How to uninstall QuillSpace

You can remove QuillSpace at any time, without contacting us and without any payment.

Windows

  1. If you activated a license key, open QuillSpace, go to Settings › License and choose Deactivate This PC, so the key can be used on another PC.
  2. Open the Start menu, right-click QuillSpace and choose Uninstall. Or go to Settings › Apps › Installed apps (Apps & features on Windows 10), find QuillSpace, and choose Uninstall.

Mac

  1. If you activated a license key, open QuillSpace, go to Settings › License and choose Deactivate This Mac.
  2. Quit QuillSpace, open the Applications folder in Finder, and drag QuillSpace to the Trash.

Uninstalling removes the app but does not delete your writing. Your projects stay in the QuillSpace folder in your Documents folder (or wherever you chose to keep them) until you delete that folder yourself. If you cancel a yearly plan, cancel it separately, as described above; uninstalling does not cancel it.

8. Ownership

We, and our licensors, own the Software and all intellectual property rights in it. QuillSpace and the QuillSpace logo are our trademarks. This Agreement gives you no rights to them other than the license in section 1.

9. Termination

You may end this Agreement at any time by uninstalling the Software. Your license ends automatically if you break this Agreement, or if your purchase is refunded or charged back. When it ends, you must stop using the paid features. Your writing remains yours, and you can keep and open your files with any text editor.

10. Warranty disclaimer

To the extent the law allows, the Software is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that the Software will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that it will never lose data, which is why you should keep backups.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of the Software. Our total liability for any claim under this Agreement is limited to the amount you paid for the Software in the 12 months before the claim.

Some places do not allow these exclusions or limits, so they may not fully apply to you. Nothing in this Agreement limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived by contract.

12. Governing law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of Vietnam, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. This does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.

13. Changes to this Agreement

We may update this Agreement, for example when the Software or how we sell it changes. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date. Changes do not take away rights you already paid for.
